In the land of politics, a tale is spun,
Of Direct Democracy, oh what fun!
But politicians in their suits so neat,
Find it quite a challenge to compete.
For in this system, the people rule,
And politicians, they start to drool.
No more backroom deals or shady schemes,
Just citizens voting, it sounds like dreams!
But alas, the representatives cry,
"Direct Democracy? Oh my, oh my!
How can we keep our power intact,
When the people have such a mighty act?"
They fear the loss of their cosy seats,
Their control slipping from their greedy feats.
No more lobbyists to wine and dine,
When the people's voices truly shine.
So they spread rumours, they cast doubt,
On Direct Democracy, they scream and shout.
But the people, they see through the haze,
And demand a change in these political ways.
So let us laugh at their desperate plight,
As Direct Democracy shines so bright.
For when the people truly have their say,
Politicians in fear will run away!
